Music Monday – Doobie Powell “The Time is Now”

If you are a lover of music especially gospel music, you need to check out Doobie Powell’s ‘The Time Is Now.’ I’ve had this album for about a week now and I absolutely love it!!!!!!  The songs are so real, transparent and truly convey Doobie’s passion and commitment to Christ in his ministry.  I must say, I’ve been impressed with many gospel artists, as of late, because long gone are the days of “cookie cutter” ministries and songs, they have been tackling real issues and delivering messages of change and transformation not just songs to make you “dance” and feel good*…and Doobie is right there with them.  Musically, like I told my music buddies, “this album just makes you want to make an ugly face and bop your head” 4real LOL…I love it, it is so groovy!!!

My Faves: “The Time is now,” “Count it all Joy,” “All the Glory,” “Cry Loud,” “The Best Thing,” “He Won’t Leave You,” and “Give it All.”
